Cettina Callari brings art to Cacciano: a new ‘Trompe l’oeil’ mural enriches the village

Cettina Callari, a very talented painter with an outstanding artistic curriculum, recently completed her second mural in Cacciano, Marche. The work, created at the request of the Circolo Fenalc Castello di Catius, a hamlet of Cacciano-Fabriano (AN), is distinguished by the pictorial genre of ‘Trompe l’oeil’. This naturalistic style creates an optical illusion that visually expands space, giving depth and realism to environments.

The Sicilian painter, originally from Niscemi, is not new to this art form. Back in 2010, she had already made her mark with her first mural in Cacciano, becoming one of the first artists to contribute to this extraordinary open-air art gallery. Today, the village hosts around 40 murals, an attraction that attracts visitors from Italy and abroad, making Cacciano a tourist destination of growing interest.

Since 1985, Cettina Callari has created no less than 54 murals, both public and private, in Italy and abroad. Among her most famous works is the mural ‘Love your city more’, painted in 1996 in Niscemi on commission by the Lions Club, then chaired by Totò Ravalli. To this day, the work still stands unaltered on the façade of a house in Via Samperi, testifying to the longevity and quality of the artist’s work.

Cettina Callari’s art is characterised by her ability to narrate the beauty of landscapes and exotic atmospheres through painting. Her canvases and murals evoke poetic images of mothers and daughters, evocative sunsets and the lush nature of Sicily. Each brushstroke encapsulates the essence of her land and transports the observer to distant and fascinating worlds.

Thanks to Cettina Callari’s talent, art merges with the urban landscape, enriching Cacciano with new perspectives and inviting visitors to discover the village with different eyes. The new ‘Trompe l’oeil’ represents a further piece in this extraordinary artistic mosaic that continues to grow, testifying to the expressive power and passion that animate the Sicilian artist.
