“Art is not what you see,
but what you make others see”

Immagine del profilo di Cettina Callari

I love looking at things with different eyes, finding ways of depicting them through art.

Cettina Callari, born in Niscemi, Sicily, is an artist who has cultivated a deep passion for drawing and painting from a young age. At the age of 16, she moved with her family to Switzerland, where she continued to follow her artistic vocation, attending courses in painting and glass engraving. In Winterthur, she organised her first exhibitions, beginning to make a name for herself on the local art scene. Swiss citizenship opened up new opportunities for her in Swiss art circles, allowing her to further refine her talent.

In the 1980s, she returned to Sicily, where she continued her training at the Caltagirone School of Ceramic Art, before graduating from the Picasso’ School of Art in Palermo. She became one of the founding members of the association ‘The Speco of Hephaestus,” created by master Giovanni Valenti in Niscemi, actively collaborating for three years. She is a member of prestigious artistic institutions, including the Artistic Circle of Bologna, the International Academy ‘Città di Roma’ and ‘De L’Aigle de Nice’ in France.

Since 1997, she has been working at an institution for the disabled, combining her

artistic experience with social inclusion through creative activities dedicated to people with disabilities. She creates murals and trompe-l’oeil in public and private spaces, and holds painting and ceramics courses in her home town.

Since 1982, Cettina Callari has exhibited her works in solo and group exhibitions, both in Italy and abroad, receiving wide acclaim from the public and critics for the commitment and quality of her artistic production.
